CURRENT RESEARCH

Studying the cultural context in which keyboard tablature developed, from the XIVth through the XVIIth century. Very interesting correspondences can be found between tablature, Judeo-Christian traditions, Kaballah, and esoterism...

Analyzing the use of counterpoint in Brahm's short piano pieces, which reveals interesting hidden thematic and formal relationships.

My doctoral research explores the relationship between improvisation and large-scale formal designs in German organ and keyboard repertoire of the 17th and 18th Century.
